PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

  • UKAfro marketplace is simply a listing service only.
  • UKAfro does not buy, sell, provide wharehousing for goods or get involve in any transaction whatsoever.
  • UKAfro does not endorse any seller nor provide any sort of guarantee for any transaction. It's entirely between you and them.
  • Don't give out sensitive financial information. With exception of your name and telephone number UKAfro will not ask you for other personal information.
  • Use your best judgement and avoid being scammed; if it sounds too good to be true it probably is!

DEAL SAFELY

To avoid incidents of fraud, always deal locally with someone in your area. Speak with them on the phone if desirable and on landline where possible. Basically, avoid all deals involving money transfer or shipping of goods abroad.

If you start dealing with someone 'locally' and somewhere down the line he/she changes their story, asking you to wire money abroad for whatever reason, or offering payment via a cashiers cheque or bank draft through him/her or via another party then you should become supicious and withdraw from the transaction as that usually is a sign of fraud.

Paypal

Services like paypal can help but it's not fraudproof. If you use paypal, check their Account Status and if they are Verified Paypal members or not. Proof of despatch of goods via a reputable courier can help you if there is a dispute. Please visit paypal.com for eligibility info or Seller/Buyer Protection and on Verified members.

Reporting Fraud

Please forward any suspicious listings to us. If you have been scamed, please contact your local law enforcement agency and report the seller to us.
